The Dutch beetroot is a type of tuber that can be eaten raw or cooked. Beets have a nice sweet taste and can be served in many ways, for example in salads or in fresh stews.

Description

Beets contain a lot of carbohydrates, proteins and dietary fiber. They are therefore real stimulants and good for an energy boost. Besides that beets get you completely fit again, they also have the necessary vitamins such as vitamin C and they contain a lot of sodium and potassium. Beets as we know them were already eaten in the sixteenth century as a tasty and nutritious vegetable. They are available year round from Dutch soil because you have both summer and winter beets. The summer beets are also known as forest beets and are sold in bunches with foliage. Winter beets are bigger and look more like a tuber.
